SWIM DIAPERS

These name brand (iPlay & Green Sprouts) reusable swim diapers are the only brands allowed in my pool as they keep solid waste inside. They have snug fitting elastic around the waist and legs, as well as microbacterial lining. Two swim diapers are required on children who are not potty-trained.

I prefer that the infants not wear tops/rash guards. Bathing suits on little girls are ok as long as they are ONE piece and fit snug. I rarely have parents who put anything more than the swim diapers on their littles, as it is just easier.

BATHING SUITS

For infants & very young toddlers, I prefer them with only the swim diapers on. No tops.

When little girls become toddlers and like to start wearing bathing suits, I prefer ONE piece. Preferably with no ties, ruffles, or frills around the neck. Simple one-pieces like these are perfect. I prefer boys with no tops/rash guards. Anything loose, or shirts that ride up, tend to get in the way and can hinder learning. Towards the end of lessons, and once your child is skilled, they can wear their fun, frilly suits.

POOL FLOATS

These floats are perfect for little ones because they won’t compromise their self-rescue skills. These floats have a solid bottom, and because little one’s feet won’t dangle in the water, they give the child no opportunity to be vertical in the water.

LIFE JACKETS

A proper fitting life jacket should always be worn on a watercraft. I cannot solidly recommend a certain brand. You will need to find a brand and size that fits your child perfectly. A good life jacket should automatically turn an unconsciouse child face-up in the water. I periodically test swim students’ life jackets to see how they perform when the child is wearing them. HyperLite & Liquid Force brands have always proved well to me. Below are HyperLite brands by weight. I am always happy to test any brand on any of my swim students.
